Someone online that I know has a thing for as he calls them, “mouse guns”. He recently told me about his Remington RM380. I’d never heard of the thing till he told me.
It appears it was made from 2015-2018, and was a design Remington bought, and tweaked a little.
It’s a .380acp, internal hammer fired pocket pistol, hence the nickname “mouse gun”. Stainless steel slide, aluminum frame, no safety, tilt barrel, and a 2.9″ barrel, with what seems to be only 6 round magazines. And has a double strike capability- Now that’s a nice feature to have.
Now I’ve never fired what this online friend would call a “mouse gun”. Depending upon how you look at it, the smallest handgun I’ve fired is either a 1974-1975 S&W M64 snubby .38spl, or a Ruger Single Six Convertible .22LR/.22WMR.
Now, one thing he told me about his RM380, which he bought new, was that it worked fine, but didn’t group as well as he thought it would. He took a look at the bore, and found it has tool marks from the chamber all the way to the muzzle.
That may be hard to believe in the day of the CNC machine, but this “mouse gun” was built just prior to the then Cerberus owned Remington declaring bankruptcy. Also this guy’s a serious “mouse gun” collector. When it come’s to “mouse guns” he knows what he’s talking about. And usually other things too… But I’ve never asked what he uses on rats…
There, that’s for you Mr. Grigori! You “mouse gunner”! LOL
